Play a Few Rounds of Ping Pong at SPIN
February 1st, 2019
SPIN puts a fresh take on the old-school pool hall. For one thing, there are no pool tables at all—just ping-pong tables. The space also boasts modern chandeliers, velvet-wrapped stools, and a bright blue accent wall covered with odds and ends painted in the same exact shade. It’s an offbeat space for a diverse crowd with one commonality: they all love ping pong.
The idea took root more than 10 years ago when a pair of best friends hosted a star-studded ping pong party attended by the likes of Jimmy Buffet, Owen Wilson, and 50 Cent. They had such a good time that they decided to make a career out of it and opened chic ping pong social clubs around the country, including one right here in Washington, DC. The club allows players to reserve a table online and then join a few pals for some friendly competition. While you play, grab a bite or a drink from the bar.
