Cotton and Reed: Tour a DC Rum Distillery
January 25th, 2018
Have you ever wondered how rum goes from the sugarcane field to your glass? Cotton and Reed holds the answers. Two friends, who are also the namesakes, run the distillery. Reed Walker and Jordan Cotton invite spirits enthusiasts like themselves behind the scenes each weekend with a tour of their distilling facilities.
The distillery tours begin at 1, 2, and 3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. The 30-minute tour takes you into the depths of the Cotton and Reed facility, where you’ll learn all about the artisan distilling process before enjoying a rum flight and rum-centric cocktail in the adjacent tasting room. Tickets are $22 and include the sips afterward. Of course, you can always just come to Cotton and Reed for happy hour and enjoy one of the drinks featuring its allspice dram, white rum, or dry-spiced rum.
