Pluma By Bluebird Bakery has only barely opened its doors to the public, but already, the bright, contemporary cafe is racking up the rave reviews. Of course, in a way, Pluma’s founders have been marketing the bakery for years. Previously, Bluebird Bakery operated as a wholesale retailer that doled out delicious baked goods to eateries around the city with the occasional pop-up stand allowing the public direct access to the sweets. Now that Pluma has made its grand debut, however, DC dwellers can enjoy the fresh baked goods whenever they want.

Swing by on your way to work to grab a cup of coffee and pistachio-chocolate croissant, a mushroom-stuffed breakfast tart, or a sourdough breakfast sammy stuffed with porchetta, a fried egg, and salsa verde. Take some monkey bread to go as an afternoon pick-me-up. Or just return to Pluma in the afternoon to grab lunch in the form of the pizza Romana or honey-laced grilled cheese and a chocolate rye brownie.
