Atlas Brewery and DC Brau both sit less than a mile away from The District Clay Center in DC, so when the center says the brews served at its “One Shot Classes” are locally sourced, it’s an accurate description. Held one or two Fridays per month, the adults-only classes pair local beer and fine wines with artistic expression.
Register for a class online ($45) and come to the art studio at 6:30 p.m. on your designated day. Over the course of the next two-and-a-half hours, your instructor will show you how to create a piece of art at the potter’s wheel while you sip your chosen beverage and nibble on some light snacks. If the One Shot Class piques your interest, sign up for a 10-week course during which you’ll delve deeper into the process of crafting ceramics and embellishing them with glazes and other techniques.
