The US Botanic Garden’s Seasonal Exhibit Has Returned for 2019
December 17th, 2019
Your winter just got a little greener with a festive visit to the United States Botanic Garden for their holiday exhibit. Each year the US Botanic Garden chooses a theme for an over-the-top holiday display of extravagant creations to add to the spirit of the season. This year’s theme is Season’s Greenings: America’s Gardens. Just as it sounds, they’ll be displaying mini recreations of some of our nation’s most beautiful green spaces, from Brooklyn Botanical Garden’s iconic red Japanese torri gate to the impressive NASA rockets amongst the greenery at Huntsville Botanical Gardens. Each piece is carefully hand-crafted by talented gardeners and artists to truly make the exhibit come to life (literally and figuratively!).
Each year the US Botanic Garden also hosts live holiday music in the conservatory on select Tuesday and Thursday nights for some extra holiday spirit. Check their website for dates. When you’re there, don’t miss the incredible display of exotic poinsettias – you’ll discover there are so many more than the traditional red beauties we’re used to seeing.
The exhibit is free for all to enjoy, so grab a few friends and get in the holiday spirit!
